Good morning, and who’s acing digital experience?

Well sure, Amazon is an obvious answer, but I mean the less obvious pioneers and victors in the contest to deliver not just products or services (or sports and entertainment) but full-fledged digital experiences, which build relationships and loyalty, and create lifelong fanatics.

One example which might not be front of mind is a football team like the Minnesota Vikings (we’ve been writing about their initiatives: see below). Another unlikely digital hero is NASCAR, which has been laser-focused on CX since before it was fashionable.

CMS, CDP and other updates from Acquia Engage

Acquia’s virtual Engage conference launched on Tuesday with a series of product updates across its open source Digital Experience Platform. The updates affect both Acquia’s Marketing Cloud, and its Drupal Cloud. 

In the Marketing Cloud, the AgilOne CDP (now Acquia CDP) offers 360-degree customer profiles, identity resolution, and the possibility of creating unified customer segments based on data sourced across the Marketing Cloud’s set of solutions. The CDP also brings machine learning capabilities to the generation of predictive and propensity data to support next-best-actions.

A new COVID-19 dashboard helps Acquia customers track and understand changes in channel and product preferences within their audiences.

The Drupal Cloud (Acquia leverages Drupal’s open source CMS), offers a new Acquia CMS, a turnkey distribution of Drupal 9, fast to implement and with with lower set-up and update costs: integrated with this is Site Studio, which provides marketers with drag-and-drop experience creation capabilities, and WYSIWYG assembly of content, layout, and designs.

Treasure Data launches new analytics suite

Enterprise CDP Treasure Data has launched a new suite of customer analytics tools, along with 15 new integrations for more visibility into customer data across stack solutions. There are now over 170 connectors that can be integrated with Treasure Data. 

More in-depth analytics, covering consumer behavior and demographics, are a part of the new suite. It also includes a new in-store software development kit for location-based data.

Minnesota Vikings announces new chat partner for Facebook Messenger

Although the regular season has gotten off to a rough start for the National Football League’s Minnesota Vikings, they further cemented their reputation as one of the NFL’s most digitally advanced teams, announcing a partnership with GameOn Technology to create an official chat experience for Facebook Messenger.

The new fan experience was launched last weekend during their home game versus the Atlanta Falcons. It combines team and community-driven content from the Vikings, combined with GameOn’s platform. The new partnership is part of a larger investment by the Vikings’ ownership family with GameOn Technology that will allow external developers and organizations to build on GameOn’s ChatOS technology stack at any time, regardless of location. 

Why we care. With many live events still on the sidelines, the NFL is setting martech trends for customer engagement that can be followed when theatres, nightlife and concerts come back online.
