Infographic: The 2017 ‘Martech 5000’ Marketing Technology Landscape
Almost 5,000 companies are now part of the marketing technology landscape, a huge leap from the 150 itemized back in 2011.

The martech space continues to grow at a huge rate, as evidenced by the nearly 5,000 companies included in latest Marketing Technology Landscape that’s been released in conjunction with the first day of MarTech Today’s MarTech conference.

The long-running martech landscape was produced by Scott Brinker of ChiefMartec and chair of our MarTech event, with help this year by Anand Thaker, CEO of IntelliPhi.
The graphic began in 2011 with 150 companies listed. In 2015, it had grown to 2,000. Last year, it nearly doubled from that to the 3,500 mark. This year, it includes 4,891 — close enough to 5,000 that Brinker has nicknamed this year’s the “Martech 5000.”
Of these companies, Brinker says:
- 6.9% are enterprises, with more than 1,000 employees or are public
- 44.2% are private businesses, less than 1,000 employees or no funding data
- 48.8% are investor-funded startups at any pre-exit stage
